The production of electric vehicles becomes more and more expressive worldwide, a growth that indicates the possibility of a disruption in the next 7 years. According to a report released in 2016 by financial advisor Morgan Stanley¹, it is estimated that by 2025 electric cars could account for 15% of the world market – three times more than previously predicted.

Following this trend, Sunew studies the application of Organic Photovoltaic Films in light car roofs that would enable the charging of electric cars, and feed the system to its own lighting. Something that is also possible is to power the system of lights that will signal if the spot is occupied or not, indispensable functionality in large parking lots.

The purpose of this installation is to have a clean energy generation system to recharge a car that also does not generate pollutants. In addition, it is a furniture with a distinctive design and easy installation, being a beautiful and sustainable solution that can be sold in the future in building material stores.

A research and development project is underway between CSEM Brazil research center, Sunew technology partner, and AES Tietê.
