If 90 people on a 2 km route chose to use a collective means of transport, about 130 kg of carbon dioxide won’t go into the atmosphere. In case of a 10 km route, this number may exceed 630 kg. Because of this, we realize that buses are the best alternative for those who seek a more acessible means of transport with less environmental impact.

In addition to the ability to transport multiple people using smaller space, buses can be even more sustainable. A pioneering and innovative solution for photovoltaic energy generation, the integration of Organic Photovoltaic Films in the bus ceiling, brings benefits to the company, the environment and customers. First, it contributes to reducing the load on the alternator, saving fuel and increasing battery life. Second, it contributes to reducing CO2 emissions by being a source of clean energy produced with recyclable materials. Finally, it contributes to thermal comfort for customers as it enables the ventilation system to function even with the engine off. This last advantage solves one of the biggest problems faced by fleets in very hot places, as it keeps the environment cooler without spending more fuel and saving on air conditioning costs while the bus is stationary.

In this type of application the photovoltaic films are integrated to the roof of the vehicle and connected to a charge controller that can direct the energy to the battery of the vehicle or to the ventilation and other electrical systems.
